For the week of April 1-7
Sermon: Consider Jesus (Easter 2018)
Impact Team Focus: Setup
Main Thought for the Week:
Jesus makes an exclusive claim: that He is the only way to God.
Consider Him, and the implications of His life on yours. He ministered to tax collectors and sinners, because it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. He was resurrected after living a perfect live and dying, taking the weight of sin for us. His eternal message is that through faith, we can be declared righteous before God, and live in a relationship with Him.
Religion is about how you performed, but relationship is about how Jesus performed. We are made righteous by His grace and love alone.
John 14:6 (NIV)
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Mark 2:16-17 (NIV)
16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
